Shopfitter need to be able to develope the true shape of inclined planes. Inclined planes are used in may display stands, shopfront window beds and in some case jewelry shop displays.

Squares, rectangles and triangular inclined planes are fairly simple. The main point to keep in mind is that in order to develop the true shape you need to be able to view the shape from an anlge of 90 degrees.

Start with developeing the true shape of a square or rectangular inclined plane.


Now for setting out the true shape of a triangular inclined plane.


Setting out inclined circular planes are more difficult and require a lot of plotting out in order to produce an accurate shape.


In all cases care in setting out will produce the them ost accurate results.

It is critical to remember to allowances for the thickness of material by cutting the shape over size before final finishing and flushing.
